Pleasant Pasan- A Poet's Departure

 Image result for pasan kodikara

If I am not wrong
He who is one of
After the collapse of
Soviet Union
You brought something to literature
“Perestroika”
Not you the last
But as if
A Sack of Russian literature
Legged behind with
Head of wisdom
To give Sinhala reader
Returned from Russia

Man who is called Pasan
Pleasant is Pasan
A son of Khayyam
Vision of life
A blend of Sartre and Nietzsche
A lover of Romeo
Smoking Juliet
Greedy alcohol
Scanty meal
Signified life
Symbol of the simple

Sleepless big eyes
Keep up tiredness
Sharp less smile
Kids may scare

Body you left out
Works your saved
Duty of a man
You did it and gone

By the “Zero”
We have to begin
Something there
To be changed

Even though it is Zero
A value is in it
You would convince
Empting the glass

Empting the world
You have gone
Placing a word
To the nihilist world
(a tribute-  to the name of the friend -  Pasan Kodikara)
